Surprise Dr. Appt

I was having some cramping/weird feeling stuff so I called the Dr. today and she wanted to see me. Since I had pre-term labor with Jade at like 27-28 weeks they did a pre-term labor test and a test for leaking fluids all were negative (good). But she did want to do a sonogram to check the amount of fluid. And I've been told I'm having the pressure and pains due to increased time spent on my feet- therefore I need to "take it easy and stay off my feet" (Great- just want Jason wanted to hear) Sooooo... Jason luckily had met me there (simply because he's been on me to "take it easy" and wanted to hear straight from the Dr. what she said- he thinks I've been coating things.... So the sonogram. I had asked the sono tech to double check the brain and the heart for the conditions that the specialist had mentioned to us. The cystic spots in the brain usually go away in most pregnancies by 24 weeks. And today I mark 25 weeks on the dot. So to much relief the cystic spots in the brain ARE GONE!!!!! You could see the light in Jason and I's eyes when she said that! What an answered prayer!! Of course when checking the heart the calcium deposit is still there but it is not suppose to go away. I just wanted to make sure it was still in the same spot and not getting bigger. And it looked fine and normal.
Had to share the exciting news~
Come on November we want to meet you Brooklyn!!!

Thanks to everyone for your continued prayers for Brooklyn!

22 1/2 week Prego Pic!

Long pass due... guess that's natural with baby #2. I think when I was pregnant with Jade I took a prego pic every week. With Miss Brooklyn, well we have 2 (one at 10 weeks and now one at 22). But either way- we have pictures! Also a little tid bit about Jade reacting to my growing belly. Last night he was all excited due to my birthday and all the sweets he had. Jade was running around the house and then wanted "Momma up" as I was sitting in a chair. I would pick him up and he would squirm in my lap. I told him he had to be carefully 'cause Brooklyn was in Mommy's tummy. Well I guess overnight it set in. Jade was laying in bed with us this morning and being ohhhhh so sweet and cuddly. He said, "Momma, Brooklyn's in belly- beee careful" And then kisses my belly button. (of which is close to an outtie now). What a sweet little brother. And the blah face I have in the pic- well my husband just "takes pictures" he doesn't warn you- like ok- smile??!!

Summer Fun!

We have been busy at least 3 times a week at Grandma's house swimming! Jade is doing soooo well! He- since last year has been able to jump from the side to Dadda. Now we count so Daddy is ready... 1...2...5!! (So maybe we need to work a little more on counting!) Grandma bought Jade goggles and water shoes and he now will stand on the steps and bend his knees to go underwater. He is always so proud of himself when he comes up- "I go underwater!!" This child has no fear of water! And of course I had to show off some awesome underwater pics of Jade! Hope you all are enjoying the summer sun too!!

Jade's 1st haircut!

We loved his curls but they were getting a little long- so it was time to get his haircut. As a normal 1st haircut we have out moments. We cried at first and Daddy had to hold his hand the whole time- but overall Jade did great! We took him to a place called Cool-Cuts for Kids. So they of course had cool things to entertain him. Jade got to sit in a firetruck during his haircut and also was watching a Dinosaur movie. The best though- we got a sucker when he was done!! What big boy he is becoming! He looks so handsome with his new do!

High-Risk Dr. Appt.

Jason and I visited a high-risk Dr. yesterday (July 2, 2008) for a more detailed sonogram. Little Brooklyn has cystic spots (or spinal fluid) on her brain- and yesterday we found out that she also has a calcium deposit in one chamber of her heart. Both increasing our risk of down syndrome. However we got "good" news yesterday- The cystic spots are getting smaller even since last weeks sonogram (which most of the time happenes- they should go away completely by 24 weeks and all will be good) The calcium depoit in the heart only happens to about 5% of babies and they don't know why. You and I have calcium deposits in our heart and they do no harm to us. Most babies get them after they are born- it's just rare for a fetus to get them. But it's not suppose to cause any heart trouble now or even later in her life.On the upscale of things- my blood work came out excellent, we don't have family history of down's- and as you all know Jade is a smart 2 year old! Therefore these things will hopefully pass and Brooklyn will be a normal baby. We are of course still nervous about this because nothing is 100% until she's born. Please keep Brooklyn in your prayers. We pray that she's a happy healthy little girl. We love her so much already!

Love,
Jason, Holly, and Jade Loff

P.S. We got some amazing sono pics from this Dr.- he has an amazing machine. Here's a few to share of our Princess!
