Portraits

I took the kids to have their pictures taken. I realized that I did not have any professional pictures of the kids together and this is a must in my book! I am so happy with the way they turned out that I had to buy all of them!
These are my very sweet beautiful full of life and love children:

Camp Out?

Last week Jade asked Jason if he could sleep on the couch... Jason looks at me like "why not?" I explained that maybe on the weekend...
Well the weekend has arrived!! And Jason, Jade, and I camped out in the living room!

Jason says, "this is what memories are made of"

Saturday night Jason took our mattress and pulled it into the living room where we watched Toy Story 2 and finally fell asleep at 11:30pm. Jade loved it and so did we! Brooklyn when she woke up Sunday morning enjoyed rolling around on the bed and climbing up onto it! FUN TIME, GREAT MEMORIES!

Home Staging

I have finally completed my 1st part of my 3 parts to my staging course!! I received my grades when we returned from Colorado and I am please! :) I will have an hour and a half phone class this coming Thursday Sept. 10th and then I take the TEST!!! The end date for my class is December 8th, however I am able to finish before then. I plan on doing a couple revisions to the 1st part of my staging work but nothing too complicated or time consuming like the first part! Whew~!~ I am very hopeful and looking forward to whatever opportunities this brings me!

Colorado!!

We boarded our long awaited flight to Denver Colorado Aug. 15th and ohhh what a beautiful day!! We had to postpone our trip twice so we were all counting down the days. We had a great time and enjoyed the cool weather. Once we flew into Denver we headed up the mountain to Steamboat Springs to spend the week with Howard, Cathy, Dalton, and Shelby. And we soaked in all the fun! Jade loved living the country life and spent many days outside playing with rocks, dirt, and sticks... and the neighborhood dogs that would stop by for their daily treat. We hiked (via suv!) up the mountains to try to see wildlife (Elk, Deer, Bears) and we were successful at finding a couple deer. However, Cherie, Shirley, and Sharon on their way back to Denver had a run in with an Elk... or to be corrected, had an Elk run into Sharon's brand new suv and total it. Ugh, that was an eventful night. So yes, up the mountains, down to the valley, and around the hills we went. We stopped by an amazing park and had fun throwing rocks into the most beautiful river. We did some tourist shopping- I wasn't going to let that slip... and ate some wonderful food!! On Thursday we headed back to Denver to spend the rest of our vacation with the rest of the family. Thursday night we had dinner with Jason's old roommate from college and Bryce and Heather's house. We always try to find time to see them when we're in Colorado.... I just love them!! And really wish we lived much closer and could do play-dates with their two! Friday was a day of golf for the guys and a day of shopping for the girls! Ohhh how I LOVE the malls in Colorado!! (And they tell me shopping is better in Texas?) I loaded up on winter clothes for the kids- they obviously have a great selection there. Saturday Aug. 25th was a day spent with James and Carla and the boys before heading back to the airport in route to Ft. Worth. We all had a wonderful time and as always, love Colorado!!

August!!

More fun time indoors!!
I enrolled Jade in a gymnastics class and he looooved it!! He took two four week classes and we were sad to see it end. His teacher was soooo awesome!
We always love play dates with friends and we did quite a few this month as I had completed my staging work and was so eager to spend time with the kids.

Miranda and I also hosted a baby shower for a dear friend. Katie is due with her 1st baby Sept. 12th!! I had so much fun doing this and the shower was grrreat!! I can not wait for Katie's baby to be born as this will be the 1st baby she'll hold! HA!

As part of my staging I added this chalk board in the laundry room and Jade is loving it!! And it's fun for Momma to have company when doing laundry!!

July!!!

Since I am wayyyy behind on my blog I will just (try to) do a recap of our events to date.
In July we have been just loving the summer being silly and staying inside away from the heat.

Oh, and remember that book and cute laptop? Well I have been attached to them lately. My 1st part of my course work is due Aug. 10th!!! I had many sleepless nights but did manage to get it all turned in on time! WahooO!
For my birthday Jason surprised me with some friends at the Lava Grill!!!! Ultimate favorite!!

AND I AM SOOOOOOOOOOOOO HAPPY FOR JACK AND AMANDA- THEY ARE ENGAGED AND WILL BE GETTING MARRIED MAY 15, 2010!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND WE ARE ALL IN THE WEDDING!!!!!!!!

We have ALL loved Amanda since the day we met her and I am beyond excited for her to join our family!!!!!! Now, we just have to get them to move to Fort Worth! HA!!

Happy 3rd Birthday Big Guy!!

First of all- I have a 3 yr old??! How'd that happen? Jade is officially 3- and knows it! Since we had his birthday party on Saturday and his actual birthday was Sunday- he got a couple days of hearing "Happy Birthday Jade!" So everyday he keeps saying, "It's my birthday again today!"

Jade is getting over his terrible two's stage finally (though today is a whining day....) and we have more good days than bad. Another accomplishment as a 3 year old- Jade is 100 percent potty trained!!!!!! In words I can not say how excited we all are about that! We are wearing underwear everywhere, even to bed! We have not had any accidents in over two weeks! We are so proud of you big boy! It took a while to get him to poop in the potty- but with his timing we did it! He loves his underwear including Thomas the train, Handy Mandy, Glow in the dark space, his sports underwear, and my favorite- his boxer briefs like Daddy's! (Was that too personal?!!)

We had a grreat Madagascar birthday party at our house with little splash pools for the kiddo's! Jade had a great time with all his friends over. And with his sweet personality keeps telling me, "It was very nice for my friends to come over and bring me my birthday presents!"

Jade you will always be a Momma's Boy!! What are you doing these days?
You (as mentioned above)are potty trained!

Jade Mommy and Daddy couldn't be prouder of you. You continue to amaze us by your talents and vocabulary. (You know all the 'real' names of the dinosaurs!
We love you birthday boy!!

Happy 6 Months Precious Girl!!

Ok, so she turned 6 months old 1 month ago. But I can not, not remember this time. And YOU have to see these pictures!! Brooklyn, you are the biggest blessing to me, your dad, and your brother. We all love you more and more everyday. I never knew having you as our baby girl would bring us all so much joy as a family and make us so complete as a family. Your smile is captivating and contagious- to us and the world. Everyone who meets you remembers you. You are the definition of beautiful. And your dimples that you got from your great-grandpa and your Mommy look sooo good on you!!
What are you up to these days?
You smile non-stop when your awake
You can roll over
You can sit up
You have 2 bottom teeth
You are eating everything- cereal, fruit, veggies, and meats. And you like them ALL!
You have always been a great sleeper!
You sleep with your glow worm and smile when it lights up.
You are wearing size 3 diapers
You weigh 18lbs
You have just started to pull off your headbands and bows!
You are such a good baby!
You are beginning to know your name as Brooklyn!
We call you: Sister, little sister, big girl, Missy girl

As much as I look forward to you growing up I would love to keep you small and my baby forever.
I can't believe you are growing up so fast!

New news

We have all been so busy around here! The summers usually do that to us, especially now that we are in June!
I have just begun studying!! And more excited about it than you know! Thanks to the suggestion from my mother-in-law (her finding), and many months (like 12 months) it finally felt right to take the plunge. I am taking a class to become a home stagger. I have always had a passion for interior decorating- and this is as close as it gets!! It is a 6 month course and with 2 kids it won't be easy but for the life I want for my family I feel deep in my heart that this is the ticket! As a home stagger I would have the flexibility that I desire for when Jade starts school.

Which brings me to my new buddy:

How cute is this?? It's the Dell mini! And PINK!! And it's required for a lot (or all of the submitting) of the course work. Did I mention that the schooling is based out of Canada?!
3 weeks ago I was having some work done on my car- and the dealership gave me a loner car while mine was in the shop. The loner- an Acura MDX. I have desired an MDX since Brooklyn was born. Having two kids and 5 seats left no room for anyone else except our family of four. So we up and decided that this was the car for us. Ohhhh the room we have! I smile every time I look back to the passengers behind me!

And lastly all of you know that I am wild about boutique clothing for Princess Brooklyn! Monogrammed clothing, pillowcase dresses, tutu's, hair bows, custom outfits.... and I have decided to release some of my creativity! I am making tutu's and hair bows!!!! I have just been making them for Brooklyn (and 1 tutu as a gift), but have thought about breaking out a boutique of my own when time allows.
Take a look at my creations:

I'm going to need a new bow holder, hers is beyond full!

And I'm all ready to make many more!!

Lots of happenings

Sooooo sooooo sorry for not updating lately!! I wasn't aware that so many people read my blogs but after quite a few verbal requests- here ya have it! Get ready for lots of new and lots of pics!!

Happy Mommy on Mother's Day!

The last week has been so bitter-sweet. We've been enjoying some family time at home. We often get so caught up with busy days and all kinds of plans- not us, not lately. Life is so sweet and I am beyond blessed to have 2 very happy healthy children.

Jade loves his sister! Jade asked to feed Brooklyn her bottle- and for a few minutes it went great!

Then while I had finished feeding Brooklyn her ceral and bannanas headed to the sink to wash bottles while Jason was cooking dinner for us... look at what we turned around to find!!

Thanks buddy for helping out with sister... afterall Daddy says she's "your baby"!!
Happy Mother's Day!!

Thank you God.

We had planned on staying inside all weekend to avoid public crowds due to the Swine Flu outbreak here in the surrounding cities. I stocked our fridge and we have just "hung-out" at home. It's been nice not having a schedule for once.
I found Jason and Jade just at awe in the rain! It cracked me up. Thank you God for the rain to entertain us!!

I love the rain, thunderstorms, and toranado watches when we're all together at home. Our grass is also a beautiful green!! The bushes we planted just weeks before Jade was born have grown quite a bit this year and I am excited to plant flowers and fix the flower beds. We plan to also do a lot of work in the back yard as we plan our 3rd birthday present to Jade! Making room for his swing set!!

Spring Air

We've been enjoying our spring weather! Lots of outdoor playing and walks around the neighborhood. I love our walks!!

Mamaw got Jade 3-D chalk for Easter and we have been "chalkin"! He loves the 3-D glasses! He calls them his sunglasses!!

Jade has also been playing with his digger in the front flower beds and loves playing in the dirt.... but not much longer. Hopefully next weekend we will be able to plant flowers!

Growing up!

Guess who's sitting up now?! Brooklyn!! She's pretty good at staying up but every once and a while she tumbles!

We have been working on more tummy time to help her roll over and crawl. I was never too excited for Jade to become mobile but with Brooklyn- I can't wait!! Or should I say Jade can't wait. Brother is soooo anxious to play with sissy!

Happy Easter!!

We had a wonderful Easter- laid back and just enjoying family. There is a reason that I've slacked on the blog.... I've been sick-yuck! This year seems to be hard on Jason and I. Allergies? Colds... who knows. Luckily the little ones have handled well.

Saturday before Easter my mother-in-law's and the kids and I went to the mall and had a traditional Easter pic. I just love this pic! Aside from Jade just completly hating the Easter bunny look this is totally my kids. Jade has suffered from the terrible two's (and three's?) and Brooklyn just loves to stare at her brother. I love capture them growing up! We went back to our house after and did some late night egg coloring. Jade thought this was cool!
Easter Sunday we went to my mother-in-law's and had a brunch and some egg hunting. And around 5pm a little rabbit hopped into their yard. It was perfect!
Happy Easter!
