High-Risk Dr. Appt.

Jason and I visited a high-risk Dr. yesterday (July 2, 2008) for a more detailed sonogram. Little Brooklyn has cystic spots (or spinal fluid) on her brain- and yesterday we found out that she also has a calcium deposit in one chamber of her heart. Both increasing our risk of down syndrome. However we got "good" news yesterday- The cystic spots are getting smaller even since last weeks sonogram (which most of the time happenes- they should go away completely by 24 weeks and all will be good) The calcium depoit in the heart only happens to about 5% of babies and they don't know why. You and I have calcium deposits in our heart and they do no harm to us. Most babies get them after they are born- it's just rare for a fetus to get them. But it's not suppose to cause any heart trouble now or even later in her life.On the upscale of things- my blood work came out excellent, we don't have family history of down's- and as you all know Jade is a smart 2 year old! Therefore these things will hopefully pass and Brooklyn will be a normal baby. We are of course still nervous about this because nothing is 100% until she's born. Please keep Brooklyn in your prayers. We pray that she's a happy healthy little girl. We love her so much already!

Love,
Jason, Holly, and Jade Loff

P.S. We got some amazing sono pics from this Dr.- he has an amazing machine. Here's a few to share of our Princess!

Awesome pictures of the sonogram. Is it a 3D? Our dr. has the worse sonogram mechine ever. So I am sure that ours won't look like these.
