Colorado!!
We boarded our long awaited flight to Denver Colorado Aug. 15th and ohhh what a beautiful day!! We had to postpone our trip twice so we were all counting down the days. We had a great time and enjoyed the cool weather. Once we flew into Denver we headed up the mountain to Steamboat Springs to spend the week with Howard, Cathy, Dalton, and Shelby. And we soaked in all the fun! Jade loved living the country life and spent many days outside playing with rocks, dirt, and sticks... and the neighborhood dogs that would stop by for their daily treat. We hiked (via suv!) up the mountains to try to see wildlife (Elk, Deer, Bears) and we were successful at finding a couple deer. However, Cherie, Shirley, and Sharon on their way back to Denver had a run in with an Elk... or to be corrected, had an Elk run into Sharon's brand new suv and total it. Ugh, that was an eventful night. So yes, up the mountains, down to the valley, and around the hills we went. We stopped by an amazing park and had fun throwing rocks into the most beautiful river. We did some tourist shopping- I wasn't going to let that slip... and ate some wonderful food!! On Thursday we headed back to Denver to spend the rest of our vacation with the rest of the family. Thursday night we had dinner with Jason's old roommate from college and Bryce and Heather's house. We always try to find time to see them when we're in Colorado.... I just love them!! And really wish we lived much closer and could do play-dates with their two! Friday was a day of golf for the guys and a day of shopping for the girls! Ohhh how I LOVE the malls in Colorado!! (And they tell me shopping is better in Texas?) I loaded up on winter clothes for the kids- they obviously have a great selection there. Saturday Aug. 25th was a day spent with James and Carla and the boys before heading back to the airport in route to Ft. Worth. We all had a wonderful time and as always, love Colorado!!
